The Double Poly Air Inflation System is the industry-standard method for insulating polyethylene-covered greenhouses and polytunnels. Two separate layers of greenhouse poly film are installed over the structure with a small gap between them. A continuously operating low-wattage inflation blower maintains constant low-pressure air between the two layers, creating a stable, sealed air cushion that acts as a thermal barrier.

This dead air space significantly reduces thermal conductivity compared to a single-layer covering, lowering heating costs by up to 50% while also providing improved resistance to condensation drip and wind load stress on the structure.

How It Works

Dual Layer Install

Two separate poly film layers are fitted over the greenhouse frame with a uniform gap maintained between them using channel and wiggle wire.

Blower Runs Continuously

A small low-pressure inflation blower runs 24/7, pumping air into the sealed cavity between the two poly layers via an inflation tube.

Air Cushion Forms

The pressurised air keeps the two layers separated and taut, forming a stable insulating cushion along the full length and width of the structure.

Heat Loss Reduced

The trapped air gap significantly reduces the U-value of the covering, cutting heating costs by up to 50% compared to single-skin poly.
