The Sun & Steel Emergency Personnel Door is the code-compliant side-wall egress door on our Multi-Span greenhouse. It is one bundled package: hinged outswing door leaf with panic hardware, full 2 in steel frame (jambs + header + sill), illuminated EXIT sign mounted above on the interior face, and the mounting plate and weather seal kit. Two go on every Sun & Steel Multi-Span at diagonally-opposed corners for travel-distance coverage.
The point of the bundle is simple: emergency egress should always work. Every component is mechanical — the panic hardware operates regardless of building power, and the EXIT sign uses an integral battery backup. Nothing in this package depends on the mobile-app or network state. The 3 ft x 7 ft opening exceeds code minimums for a single-occupant means of egress.

Defaults to 2 per Multi-Span — placed at the front-left and back-right corners so the egress travel distance from any point in the building stays under code maximums. The configurator lets you remove or add doors from the spec; spans without an emergency door get continuous side-wall cladding instead.

Independent of power
Panic hardware is purely mechanical. EXIT sign keeps lit for 90 min on battery backup if power is lost.

Drops into the cladding
The frame is pre-fitted to land in a single side-wall cladding bay; the surrounding cladding girts skip the opening automatically in the build code.

No separate sign to source, mount, or wire. The package includes the red LED EXIT sign with battery backup and the bracket above the door's interior face.
