The Sun & Steel 100′ Commercial High Tunnel Greenhouse comes in two models to suit any operation. Both feature 6-foot sidewall clearance, dual 8’6″ vehicle-access sliding doors on both ends, full-length 8-foot roll-up vents, insect mesh ventilation, and 6-mil UV-stabilized poly film on a galvanized steel frame.
The Standard Model delivers proven commercial performance with 21 arches at 5 ft on centre — reliable, cost-effective, and built to outperform. The Heavy Model pushes further with 26 arches at 4 ft on centre, 2.5 mm arch walls, a three-tier W-support truss on every arch, and heavier pipe diameters throughout — built for the toughest climates and highest-demand operations.
Engineered to spec
Every Sun & Steel structure ships as a complete, labelled kit on a heavy-duty galvanized frame. Here is exactly what goes into it.
Reference specifications shown for the 100′ High Tunnel (Standard) build — framing scales proportionally across every length below.
Ground-anchor pipes driven directly into soil — no concrete required
Vertical wall sections running from anchor top to arch spring — one per arch leg
Main structural arch members forming the gothic curve — 2 pieces per arch, joined at peak
Junction sleeve connecting arch rib pair at peak — 2 per arch
Horizontal chord at 8 ft height tying each interior arch across the full span — 2 pcs per arch (19 interior arches)
45° diagonal braces from arch crown to bottom cord junction — 2 per interior arch
Primary return leg from bottom cord junction back to arch shoulder — 2 per interior arch
Secondary return — angled 14° outward from arch shoulder down to bottom cord — 2 per interior arch
Internal splice joining the two bottom cord halves at mid-span
Cross-bracing on both end bays of both sidewalls — resists lateral wind load at the gable ends
Longitudinal purlins running the full 100 ft — 2 mirrored shoulder runs, 2 mirrored mid runs, 1 ridge
8 ft 6 in wide sliding door opening on each end wall
Aluminum channel with wiggle wire securing poly film along both sidewalls
6-mil UV-stabilized poly film — full gothic arch roof with 2 ft overlap on all edges
6-mil UV-stabilized poly film for both gable end walls with 2 ft overlap on all edges
6-mil UV-stabilized poly film for both sidewalls with 2 ft overlap on all edges
