The Sun & Steel Commercial Hoop Tunnel Greenhouse brings the wide-open hoop design to full large-scale production. Spanning 30 feet wide and up to 300′ long, with a 14-foot peak and 8-foot interior standing clearance from end to end, both models include dual 8’6″ vehicle-access sliding doors on both ends, full-length roll-up sides, insect mesh ventilation, and 6-mil UV-stabilized poly film on a galvanized steel frame.
The Standard Model features 21 arches at 5 ft on centre — a proven, cost-effective structure for high-volume growing operations. The Heavy Model pushes further with 26 arches at 4 ft on centre, 2.5 mm arch walls, a three-tier W-support truss on every arch, and heavier pipe diameters throughout — the strongest commercial hoop greenhouse we build.
Engineered to spec
Every Sun & Steel structure ships as a complete, labelled kit on a heavy-duty galvanized frame. Here is exactly what goes into it.
Reference specifications shown for the 100′ Hoop Tunnel (Standard) build — framing scales proportionally across every length below.
Ground-anchor pipes driven directly into soil — arch foot slides over anchor top
Lower curved arch section from grade to shoulder — 2 per arch, one each side
Crown section spanning shoulder to shoulder across the peak — 1 per arch
Horizontal chord at the arch spring line (~8.5 ft) tying each interior arch — 2 pcs per arch (19 interior arches)
Diagonal braces from arch crown junction to bottom cord — 2 per interior arch
Return leg from bottom cord junction back to the arch — 2 per interior arch
Cross-bracing on both end bays of both sidewalls — resists lateral wind load at the gable ends
Longitudinal purlins running the full 100 ft — 2 mirrored shoulder runs, 2 mirrored mid runs, 1 ridge
8 ft 6 in wide sliding door opening on each end wall
Aluminum channel with wiggle wire at grade level securing the arch base film
6-mil UV-stabilized poly film — full semicircular arch covering with 2 ft overlap on all edges
6-mil UV-stabilized poly film for both gable end walls with 2 ft overlap on all edges
Grade-level film panels securing the arch base on both sides with 2 ft overlap
